Canaan Exodus 1

A few keys points to remember:

-Egypt was only meant to preserve God’s people not keep them there. The destination the Lord had for them was the Promised Land.

This world is not our home. Our promised land is eternity with Christ.

Let’s get our focus back on our future and on the Kingdom of God.

Why Jesus Broke It!

Luke 9:12-17 We find in this scripture that Jesus and his disciples had went to a remote town. A large crowd had followed Jesus and listened to his teachings. Jesus taught them about the Kingdom of God.

The disciples told Jesus to send the crowds away because there was nothing to eat in this remote town. Really, the disciples telling Jesus what to do! But Jesus reply is something that I think hits home for all of us. He tells the disciples, “YOU FEED THEM.” (Luke 9:13) Before all of this happened the disciples had been sent out with the power and authority to heal the sick and cast out demons. But here they are faced with a great need and they want to tell Jesus to send the crowd away because they couldn’t afford to feed them. There is no need that is too great for the Lord. Nothing is too hard for the Lord.

They told Jesus they only had 5 loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus took what they had and blessed it and broke it and gave it out. The people ate as much as they wanted and there was 12 baskets of leftovers. Did you hear that? Leftovers. Okay do the math here. 5,000 men + their wives and children and enough food to feed them=5 loaves of bread and 2 fish?

This wasn’t the first time Jesus broke bread. Matthew 26:26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

Jesus is the bread of life. (John 6:35) His body was broken for us when he died on the cross. When Jesus breaks something and blesses it you will get multiplication. After Jesus died on the cross the Kingdom multiplied because through Him we can have forgiveness of sins. He was broken for us. Thank you Lord!

The church has been broken. The kingdom of God is coming. This is the time for multiplication. Church, you WILL prevail!! The gates of hell will not win against you.

Can you hear the LORD saying to you today. YOU FEED THEM! The Kingdom of heaven is at hand. It is not time for us to sit back and watch. We need to be preparing the way for the coming of Jesus. A great awakening is coming. The walls of the church has been torn down. The CHURCH has NOT been tore down. Only the walls. It’s time to get out of our comfort zones and move out into the world to tell others about Jesus. Jesus is coming.

Did you see in the scripture about that when something gets into the hands of Jesus and he breaks it that the result is multiplication. We are in the hands of Jesus. Our life is in the hands of Jesus. There are no better hands to be in.

How does this apply to your personal life? Have you been broken? If so, you can believe today that you are in the hands of Jesus Christ and he will help you. It says that Jesus moved with compassion for the crowd because they had a need. He will move with compassion for you and take your brokenness and turn it into something good, for His glory! Only Jesus can do this.

Pray with me today:

Lord, I ask you to help me go forth and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Help me to come out of my comfort zone and not be afraid to tell others about Jesus.

Take my brokenness Lord and use it for your glory. Heal my heart and make me whole.

In Jesus name,

Amen
