Maxine Rose Ford, 83, of Chesterfield, VA went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Maxine was born to Rudolph & Ruby Coffey on January 12, 1941 in Augusta County, Virginia.
Maxine is survived by her children, Donnie Conover (Debbie) of Stuarts Draft, VA and Stacy Smith (Troy) of Chesterfield, VA. 8 grandchildren: T.J., Allison, Austin, Allysa, Dallas, Derick, Danielle and Daelyn. 8 great grandchildren: Camden, Anna, Charlotte, Elowen, Revie, Grayson, Wells and Oliver. 2 Brothers, Hedley Coffey of Raphine VA, David Coffey of Staunton, VA and a sister, Barbara Shaner of Staunton, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as Molly, her fur baby that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ford of 41 years, a brother, Wilson Coffey, a sister, Audrey Garber and niece, Dana Tacy.
Maxine worked for 30+ years for AT&T telephone company which was originally C & P telephone company. She was a member of Emerge Ministries in Stuarts Draft, VA. Maxine was a kind soul with a beautiful smile that would light up a room. Maxine loved the Lord and served Him for many years in the church. One of her greatest loves besides her savior, was her family. She was so proud of all of them. She loved her church family and was considered the “Church mother.” Besides spending time with her family, Maxine loved her friends, Bible study group, cooking, crocheting and chatting on the phone.
Family will gather at the home of Maxine through Thursday. Family & friends are invited to gather there for a meal after the Celebration of Life service.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, December 5 at 11:00 AM at the City of Refuge Church, 5711 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield VA. The officiants will be Pastor Debbie Conover, Pastor Kevin Stewart, and Kennard Tillman.
